Laboratory for plasma processing
Unit aims to design and construct various plasma sources based on laser plasmas and gas discharge plasmas and their characterization/diagnostics using laser spectroscopy, all for different applications in health, food, energy, environment, and security. Main research outputs of the laboratory will include: special plasma treatments, thin films fabrication, sterilization, coatings and impregnations, colloidal nanoparticles synthesis, plasma sources standardization etc.
The potential benefit of plasma treatment will be improvements of thin film characteristics for photovoltaic industry; increasing shelf-life of products in the food industry; enhance the efficiency of sterilization for medical and food industry and upgrade textile durability and wettability for the textile and paper/foil industry.
