Laboratory for optical characterization of materials
Main experimental techniques:
- UV/Visible spectroscopy characterization
- Infrared spectroscopy characterization of samples
- Spectroscopic ellipsometry characterization
- Raw materials characterization (combined fluorescence, Raman …)
Demand for optical characterization of materials is high and all the major methods for optical characterization are gathered in this laboratory, allowing for sample inspection in a wide variety of related applications from: art conservation, forensics, food, drug control and pharmaceutical production.
We are capable of inspecting samples in different varieties of origin: opaque, transparent, liquids, thin films etc. Benefits of samples inspection include: improved time for material identification, higher quality failure analysis, more precise detection of hazardous substances in drugs and food products, enhanced efficiency of industrial methods, etc. Moreover, this lab may serve to give preliminary inputs for more detailed nano-scale analysis in the next door nano-characterization laboratory.
