Croatian accession to the EU has provided the opportunity to submit projects for funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) which aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion by correcting imbalances in development between regions within the EU. Institute of Physics has submitted the project to the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (MSES) of the Republic of Croatia, which has launched an Open Call for proposals named Preparation of Infrastructure projects pipeline for ERDF 2014-2020.
Centar za napredne laserske tehnike (Centre for Advanced Laser Techniques – CALT).
The project was selected on the indicative list among scientific infrastructure projects and has received financial support by the MSES for preparation of project documentation from the resources of the Second Science and Technology Project (STP II). CALT project is included in the Croatian Research and Innovation Infrastructures Roadmap and was declared in March 2017 as a project of strategic importance for the Republic of Croatia.
On 20 February 2018, the Ministry of Science and Education passed a decision on the financing of the CALT project in the total amount of 121.297.812,38 kuna.
